Melon Festival

The 2012 Howell Melon Festival will take place on August 17, 18, and 19

The 52nd Annual Howell Melon Festival rolls into Downtown Howell on August 17th-19th.  This great summer tradition has been hosted by the Howell Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Program since 2009, carrying forward the dedicated efforts of the Howell Jaycees.  The event is brought to you in partnership with the City of Howell, Howell Parks and Recreation Authority, Livingston Arts Council, Howell Rotary Club, Howell Area Historical Society, and numerous other community organizations and non-profits. 

This 2012 event has all the fan favorites coming back, like the 35th Annual Melon Run, the 3rd Annual Melon Ball, Sidewalk Sales, Classic Diesel Train Rides, Festival Tent at the Opera House with Michigan breweries/live music/BBQ, Fine Arts & Wares Show, featuring 100 fine artists and crafters, Saturday Night Movie, Howell Melon Ice Cream, live entertainment and Children's Activities including Childrens' Inflatables.

We would like to invite you to apply for the honor of designing and producing the Official 2012 Fine Arts and Wares Show Poster Design!  Posters will be sold to Melon Festival Patrons and the first of the series will be put on display in the Howell Downtown Development Authority Office.  You may submit up to three designs of your artwork or fine ware to the Howell Downtown Development Authority.  The deadline for entry is May 1, 2012.  If one of your designs is chosen, you will be notified by June 1, 2012.  We hope to be receiving your submissions soon!  (Application is under About and Downloads.)
