The 51st Annual Howell Melon Festival rolls into Downtown Howell on August 19-21st. This great summer tradition has been hosted by the Howell Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Program since 2009, carrying forward the dedicated efforts of the Howell Jaycees. Our proud signature sponsor is Citizens Insurance. The event is brought to you in partnership with the City of Howell, Howell Parks and Recreation Authority, Livingston Arts Council, Howell Rotary Club, Howell Area Historical Society, Howell Kiwanis Club, Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, Humane Society of Livingston County, and numerous other community organizations and non-profits.
This 2011 event has all the fan favorites coming back, like the 34th Annual Melon Run, the 2nd Annual Melon Ball, Sidewalk Sales, Classic Diesel Train Rides, Thompson Lake Boat Cruises, Festival Tent at the Opera House with Michigan breweries/live music/BBQ, Saturday Night Movie, Childrens' Inflatables, Howell Melon Ice Cream, live entertainment and Children's Activities. New this year: A summer concert at the beach on Wed. Aug. 17th, featuring local musicians Jeff Pianki and Mike Vial, a Fine Arts & Wares Show, featuring 60 fine artists and crafters, expanded Festival tent with Michigan breweries, live music, and barbecue on both Friday and Saturday, and much more!
