Howell Carnegie Library, 314 W. Grand River Ave & The Hive Youth Services Center, 214 N. Walnut St.

From 4:00pm-6:30pm the library will be hosting their end of summer party with activities in the Library and on The Hive lawn. Everything is open to the public! There will be glitter tattoos, a snow cone machine, and a craft as well as all the carnival inflatables.

Concert at the Courthouse - Steve King & The Dittilies

Historic Howell Courthouse Amphitheater

A variety of local area musicians take center stage every Friday night throughout the summer on the Courthouse lawn! This concert series is free, family (and pet)-friendly featuring rock, folk and blues entertainment. We’re proud to celebrate 21 years of bringing music to the masses! Join them during the Howell Melon Festival for a free concert by Steve King & The Dittilies.

Livingston Lamplighters Barbershop Chorus

The Livingston Lamplighters Barbershop Chorus will be strolling around the festival performing some classic barbershop hits on Saturday during the Howell Melon Festival! Be sure to check them out


Classic Car Show
- Presented by the Howell Area Historical Society

Saturday, August 17th - 10am-2pm

E. Grand River Ave. near the Historic Howell Courthouse

Join us right in the middle of Grand River on Saturday for the annual Howell Melon Festival Classic Car Show!  All classic vehicles are welcome.

The first fifty entrants will receive bags with gifts and dash plaques
First, Second, and Third-Place plaques will be awarded.

Cost: $10 to register your car / $15 the day of

Water Wars

Cool off at the Howell Melon Festival with Water Wars - our giant water balloon battle for people of all ages!  Use the two giant slingshots to hurl water balloons at your opponent in this frantic one on one game!  It's a great way to stay cool so be sure to check it out at The Hive.


Imagination Playground Blocks

Near the Howell Carnegie Library

Kids will love playing on the Imagination Playground Blocks! This fun kid-centered playground features bricks and cylinders, accented with chutes, channels and parts that suggest motion or connectivity. They inspire children to design their own inventions, environments and activities. Come check out the fun on Saturday and Sunday during the Howell Melon Festival!


Doggie Cooling Station
- Presented by VCA Countryside Animal Hospital of Howell

W. Grand River Near the Howell Carnegie Library

Our canine friends need to stay hydrated too so we're happy to announce our Melon Festival Doggie Cooling Station is here to help man's best friend!  Here dogs can cool off with a drink of cold water and rest up before heading back to the festival.  Be sure to check it out on Grand River right next to the Canine Stars Dog Show!

 


Farmer's Market
- Presented by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce

Be part of a fun, local tradition right at the heart of the festival!  The Howell Farmer’s Market  features the finest in locally grown produce, bedding plants, flowers, homemade goods and crafts.  Come shop local and join in the fun Sunday morning! 


Centerpointe Church Service

Join Centerpointe Church at the Courthouse Amphitheater on Sunday morning for their outdoor service and live music!


Polynesian Dancers of Michigan

S. Center Street Inside the Festival Tent

There will be 4 hula dancers who will be performing including audience participation (Hula and Tahitian lessons). One of the dancers will be Michigan Moana.

We're going back to the good ole' days of the soda shops with these classic root beer floats served right out of our festival tent!  Come get a tasty root beer float served out of a signature Melon Festival mug that's yours to keep.  These floats are served on a first-come, first-served basis so be sure to come early.
